We get a kick from the fervour of sports and we have a penchant for travel. So, we decided to combine the pleasures of travel and the passion of sports, giving way to sports travel – a chance for interaction across borders unlike any other. Sports travel can either be in the form of spectator sports, whereby you get the rare opportunity to catch the action live, or in the form of participation where you can get a chance for friendly competitions or training sessions with renowned coaches. Here are some examples of popular sports in Vietnam:

  • Football: The most popular sport in Vietnam.
  • Australian Rules Football: Introduced by Australian expatriates in 1998, it has been a growing sport ever since.
  • Jianzi: The national sport in Vietnam – played by using a heavily weighted shuttlecock. The field is similar to that of badminton and volleyball but players are only allowed to use everything except their hands. Jianzi can also be played artistically among a circle of players in a street or park.
  • Other Sports: Cricket, Rugby, Badminton, Tennis, Running, Chess and various Martial Arts.
  • Sporting Events: Vietnam has many events and festivals throughout the year, including Yacht Festivals, Belly Dancing in Hanoi, Saigon Cyclo Challenge, Fansipan Exploring and Paramotor Competitions.
